Here at Progressive Sleep & Wellness, we provide an alternative to the CPAP, as well as helping to facilitate testing and diagnosis for sleep apnea and other sleep disorders. Treating your sleep apnea will help you rest better at night, improving your overall health and reducing your risk of developing more serious medical conditions that can result from sleep apnea. There are two ways to test for a sleep order. One common test is a PSG, which is performed in a lab setting. Another more convenient test is the Home Sleep Study, done in the comfort of your own home. If a home sleep test is appropriate, we have the testing device mailed to your home with easy, step-by-step instructions. All you have to do is follow the testing instructions and sleep as you normally do. Once you’ve completed the simple test, all you need to do is mail the unit back. We work in conjunction with board-certified sleep physicians to facilitate your diagnoses.
Once we have the results, Dr. Sheldon Sullivan can recommend the best available treatment for you. The most common treatment for sleep apnea is the CPAP. Although this is an effective treatment, the compliance for many can be limited. An alternative we offer to treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea is an oral appliance. We strive to match each patient with the best oral appliance in order to provide the best possible outcome for your sleep apnea treatment.
The most common appliances we provide are the Herbst and the Micro O2.
